Board of Intermediate and Secondary education, Bannu (BISE Bannu) came into existence in 1990. This educational body was established as a result of the separation from the Peshawar BISES. Since its establishment, the board has the power to regulate every small and large educational affair. Till now, the board has affiliated more than 700 schools and colleges in Bannu and in its jurisdiction areas as well. The jurisdiction of this board has been confined to several other districts which include District Lakki Marwat, District Tank, North Waziristan Agency and South Waziristan Agency. Every year BISE Bannu organizes matriculation exams in March while intermediate annual exams in May. Though, the board issues the schedule of these exams almost one month earlier. After the interval of two to three months the board announces the result of these exams. Officials of BISE Bannu board announces the name of position holders one day before the overall result announcement and it also organizes the prize distribution ceremony in honor of position holders on result announcement day in morning in which the focal persons awarded certificates, prizes and shields to the students.
