There are total eight educational boards that are working across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. BISE Abbottabad board is one of those educational board and is working for Abbottabad region. The board is providing its best services to regular as well as private students of the region to raise the standard of education and to improve the literacy rate of the state. Board of Intermediate and Secondary education, Abbottabad (BISE Abbottabad) was came into being as a result of the separation from the Peshawar board. The board started its working as an independent body earlier in 1990.
Because of the work load the board is divided into the two sections. The board has the power to regulate, manage and organize the administrative and the managerial affairs. The main objective of the board is to conduct Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) level exams. The registration of the aspirants at 9th level and 11th level is the major responsibility of the board. Every year thousands and thousands of students get registered through this board to appear in the annual of matric and inter level. Along with conducting the exams of these levels, board also organizes the exams of various diplomas and certifications.
